Wye College Kent

Union4 have successfully secured multiple planning consents and amendments, including the original redevelopment and refurbishment consent, secured through Public Inquiry, for the regeneration of these historic buildings in the centre of Wye, in Kent. The buildings, some dating back to the 15th century, comprise a mix of Grade I, Grade II* and Grade II structures, including a number classified as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and were formerly used for educational purposes, established in 1447 to educate local children. Since Imperial College vacated the site in 2009, it has remained vacant and falling into disrepair. The ongoing redevelopment and refurbishment of the site by TT Group will secure the long term future of these nationally important buildings, to the benefit of the village and nation as a whole. Given the age and importance of these structures, sympathetic and sensitive refurbishment has been vital, working in close coordination with the onsite Wye Heritage Centre to secure 40 residential homes and a new section for the Centre, through a combination of refurbishment and new development. Access will be provided to some of the more historic parts of the complex for the visiting public.
