Union4 is a specialist, independent town planning consultancy

We are passionate about delivering economic growth and social progress whilst enhancing the environment. 

We work across a broad spectrum of developments, including residential, commercial, retail, education and leisure sectors, as well as providing expertise on a range of infrastructure projects in the minerals, waste and energy sectors. 

Our clients are varied and include developers, house builders, housing associations, private individuals, charities and a variety of public sector bodies, including local authorities, education providers and health establishments.

Our team are experts in their field, with extensive experience in dealing with complex schemes and sensitive sites across a diverse portfolio of sectors. We work with a positive and creative mindset, providing strategic advice optimising the likelihood of successful outcomes in an increasingly technical planning system.

Steven Fidgett MRTPI

Director

Steven was formerly UK Head of Planning with WYG, one of the top 5 Planning Consultancies in the UK and previously Managing Director of Alliance Planning, leading the business until its acquisition by WYG. Steven has over 35 years of experience in planning consultancy, working for a wide range of public and private clients throughout the UK. He has extensive experience of major projects, EIA and public inquiries, and providing expert advice for the development and regeneration sector.


Tanya Jordan MRTPI

Director

Tanya has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of the planning system, including managing large scale housing, commercial and mixed-use schemes in London and the South East. Tanya has particular experience of working with affordable housing providers and delivering estate regeneration schemes. Tanya leads project teams, is commercially-minded and is focused on finding solutions to meet client and project needs. 


Andy Stallan MRTPI

Director

Andy has over 30 years of experience in the public and private planning sectors. He provides town planning advice for residential, commercial, energy, education and leisure projects within the South East. Andy previously worked for Guildford, Spelthorne and Surrey Heath Councils, developing an excellent knowledge of public sector procedures and practices. 


Joy MacCoughlan MRTPI

Associate Director

Joy has over 35 years of experience in the public and private planning sectors, working for different multi-disciplinary private sector firms, as well as local planning authorities, principally in the South East. Joy provides planning advice for public and private clients across a broad range of development sectors, including residential, commercial, education and leisure.


Luke Farmer

Planning Consultant

Luke has previous experience working in both consultancy and housebuilding settings following his graduation from Royal Holloway, University of London with a First-Class undergraduate degree in Geography and Masters degree in Spatial Planning and Development from Henley Business School at Reading University. Luke is currently completing the L-APC requirements to become a chartered member of the RTPI. 


Tanya Kozak MRTPI

Associate

Tanya has over 10 years of experience in planning consultancy. Originally from Canada, Tanya came to the UK to study urban planning and completed her Masters Degree in Urban Planning Design in 2016. Tanya works across a variety of sectors including education, residential, commercial and energy, specialising in townscape matters, Tanya provides input in terms of existing architectural elements and how they relate to the design of development proposals.


Jonathan Rowlatt MRTPI

Director

Jon has over 19 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Jon has led a wide range of projects across all sectors of planning, including mixed use, residential, healthcare, education, commercial and minerals and waste, from project conception, through to detailed advice and support during the build out process.


Chloe McGuire

Planning Consultant

Chloe has previous experience in spatial planning within a local authority setting, with a focus on policy and infrastructure planning. This follows her graduation from McGill University with an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies and Environment and Masters degree in Sustainable Urbanism from the Bartlett School of Planning at UCL. Chloe is currently completing the requirements to become a chartered member of the RTPI. 


Alan Hannify MRTPI

Director

Alan has over 20 years of experience in planning consultancy, providing strategic planning advice to a variety of clients and enabling the successful delivery of large-scale projects across a range of development sectors, including energy, infrastructure, commercial, education, minerals and waste. Alan also specialises in the preparation and co-ordination of Environmental Impact Assessments, including the project management of multi-disciplinary teams.


Alex Webster MRTPI

Director

Alex has 18 years of experience in planning consultancy, working on a wide range of sites and projects in the London boroughs and nationwide. Formerly a retail planner working for major convenience retailers, and with a background in large scale permitted development schemes, Alex manages multi-disciplinary teams on projects across the residential, student accommodation, tourism, and commercial sectors. 


David Butcher MRTPI

Associate Director

David has a background in managing and developing rural and urban land portfolios, providing tailored strategic advice. David is an affiliate member of the IHBC, he has an interest in urban design and is proficient in analysing the heritage impacts of development providing Heritage Statements to accompany applications. 


Katie Fidgett

Business Manager

Prior to joining Union4, Katie has spent several years working at the head office of a leading US apparel and homeware retailer, assessing market trends, the strength of retail sales and logistics. She is commercially minded and has a passion for strategic planning and developing efficient business practices that support growth.


Vivienne Goddard MRTPI

Associate

Vivienne has over 13 years of planning consultancy experience working at a number of multi-disciplinary planning consultancies in the Capital. She advises across a range of sectors, including residential, commercial and education but with particular regional focus and experience on development schemes within London and the South East.


Andy Wells MRTPI

Director

Andy has over 18 years of experience in planning consultancy, ranging from large scale projects such as HS2, to delivering small regeneration and redevelopment sites. Andy works with a variety of clients, enabling the successful delivery of projects across a range of development sectors, including affordable and market housing, commercial, community facilities, infrastructure, energy, transport and leisure.
