13 Netherhall Gardens Hampstead, London

Union4 prepared and co-ordinated planning applications for three separate phases of development at 13 Netherhall Gardens in the London Borough of Camden. The site comprised an existing vacant residential building known as Elm Tree House which is located in the Fitzjohns and Netherhall Conservation Area. The first phase involved the submission of a planning application proposing works to the external building envelope of Elm Tree House to return the building to a habitable condition and restore its residential use. The second phase involved the submission of a planning application comprising a basement level extension and reconfiguration of the lower ground floor of Elm Tree House, thereby creating a further three residential units. The third phase involved the submission of a further planning application for a new residential building adjacent to Elm Tree House, with the new building comprising of six residential units. The third application also included a comprehensive landscaping scheme for the site, with enhancements in biodiversity. The planning applications were informed by an extensive process of consultation with the London Borough of Camden and local stakeholders to provide a modern and contemporary residential building which is sympathetic to Elm Tree House and the surrounding built heritage.
